What has the Tea Party accomplished?

It’s been over 2 years since the Tea Party was formed, and since then have they made any significant accomplishments? This is a list (or at least my attempt at one) of things that I believe the Tea Party has accomplished since their creation. I know that many members of the tea party will try to argue with this list, so I’ll cite multiple sources.

Tax cuts for the wealthiest top 2% of Americans- At the peak of the Tea Party movement 18% of Americans, almost 1 in 5, had a favorable view of the Tea Party. Too bad the majority of that 18% doesn’t benefit from being a member of the wealthiest top 2% of Americans.

Teabagger uses racism to explain that the Tea Party is not racist

Closet klansman and tea bagger extraordinaire Grady Warren seems to be an idol for many in the Tea Party. He hit the scene a few months ago when he called for a “Teahad” on pretty much anyone who isn’t a white male. The interesting thing about this is that many feel there are some in the tea party who don’t share his views yet NO ONE from the tea party has said they disagree with him. The deafening silence coming from the right shows that they do agree with him. They are doing the quiet little wink-wink nudge-nudge thing they always do when someone pulls back the curtain to show their true feelings. The same reason why no one tells the racist members at tea party rallies to leave, they are all in agreement. Pukes like Grady are a dredge on our society.

The President is a Muslim, and I Have Proof

There’s no doubt about it, the President is a Muslim.

You want proof?

• Over the past 20 years, tens of millions of dollars from the Saudi government and Saudi businessmen have been traced to companies in which the President and members of his cabinet held prominent positions.

• Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia contributed a cool $1 million to the President’s “future Presidential Library,” which of course, has yet to be built.

• Several years ago members of the Bin Laden family “invested” $50,000 in a company in which the President held a partnership interest (not ACORN related however).

• The President and his fund raisers share the same lawyers as three wealthy Saudi businessmen who have been investigated by the federal government for helping finance Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist network through an Islamic charity in the same state the President once held a Congressional seat.

• The President repeatedly praises Saudi Arabia in the news, protects charities associated with the Saudi royal family accused of funneling money to terrorist organizations, and has invited Saudi government leaders to break bread with him in his private home in the United States. (At least he has the “decency” not to allow them in the White House.)

• The President’s father was the real give away. Largely unadvertised by the mainstream media, while alive and breathing, he was a senior-advisor to the Carlyle Group—an investment bank with well known deep connections to the Saudi Royal family. And you guessed it, now out of the blue, the Carlyle Group (an obvious Saudi shill) has donated $1 million to the President’s unbuilt “future Presidential Library.”

• In order to help facilitate a second term for his Presidency, rumors abound and evidence suggests, the Saudi government has agreed to increase their production of oil by several million barrels a day when election time for the President’s run for a second term comes around in order to drive the price of oil downward and create a temporary illusion of economic stability, while in reality, the economy will continue to rapidly spiral downward.

Poll: Miss. Republicans think inter-racial marriage should be illegal

46% of Mississippi Republicans say inter-racial marriage should be illegal, to 40% who say it should be legal. And it seems Palin does better with the racist crowd.

Palin’s net favorability with folks who think interracial marriage should be illegal (+55 at 74/19) is 17 points higher than it is with folks who think interracial marriage should be legal (+38 at 64/26.)

Barbour is the GOP favorite in the state, unless you look at just the ban-inter-racial-marriage crowd, then Huckabee jumps to the head of the list.

NH GOP State Congressman Says Disabled and Mentally Ill Are ‘Defective People’ And Should Be Shipped To Siberia

A community health program manager got a surprise when she e-mailed her NH State Congressman recently to ask him about why he had voted to cut money from mental health programs. The Senator told her that society would be better without disabled people, and he wishes he could ship disabled people to Siberia.

Via the Concord Monitor;

Barrington Republican Martin Harty told Sharon Omand, a Strafford resident who manages a community mental health program, that “the world is too populated” and there are “too many defective people,” according to an e-mail account of the conversation by Omand. Asked what he meant, she said Harty clarified, “You know the mentally ill, the retarded, people with physical disabilities and drug addictions – the defective people society would be better off without.”

Harty confirmed to the Monitor that he made the comments to Omand. Harty told the Monitor the world population has increased dramatically, and “it’s a very dangerous situation if it doubles again.” Asked about people who are mentally ill, he asked, apparently referring to a lack of financial resources, “Can we afford to bring them through?”

Harty said nature has a way of “getting rid of stupid people,” and “now we’re saving everyone who gets born.”

Harty’s conversation with Omand became public at a hearing on the state budget yesterday when Laurie McCray, a registered nurse and board member of the Disability Rights Center, read Omand’s account to the House Finance Committee. Afterward, McCray said she wanted people to know about the representative – whom she did not identify publicly – because he “didn’t deserve to represent people in New Hampshire.”

In an interview and in an e-mail Omand sent to her friends, Omand said she called Harty, who represents her district, to tell him her concerns about the House Finance Committee’s proposed cuts to mental health services. Omand said Harty said he disagreed with her and made the comments about eugenics.

Omand says Harty then stated, “I wish we had a Siberia so we could ship them all off to freeze to death and die and clean up the population.”
