An Open Letter To The Conservative Movement

This letter was sent to us by a user who asked that it be posted to point out the shortfalls and hypocracy of the conservatives and republicans.

It’s amazing to me how the Republicans (re-treads)/Conservatives cherry-pick information, play-on emotions, and rely on fear-based tactics to forward their cause and gain support.

Let’s see if I can get your attention….TERRORISM!!!! There…. I should have your attention now: (lol)

1) You blame Obama and the dems for everything (who’s been president for how long?), yet you chose to ignore the previous 8 years leading up to the economy’s downfall and two wars. That would be like adopting a troubled teen and blaming the current parents for the teen’s problems! Makes sense?

2) You feel the “invisible hand” will always solve our problems and you support small government, deregulation, and tax cuts. But you ignore the fact that we have NEVER been a TRUE free market. (examples: Bailouts: instead of letting companies fail. Socialism:Medicare, Social Security, and law enforcement paid with public funding). Think of our economy as a hybrid automobile: If the gas portion, free market, OR the electric portion, socialism (yes we HAVE had socialistic-pieces in our economy for decades), of the hybrid automobile fails, what do you have left? A car that is no longer feasibly functional (see broken). It _will_ run; but it will run poorly. There is a balance of free market AND socialism in our economy. Our economy is a hybrid! So stop using the word socialism as though it is something dirty, unless you are prepared to loose the socialistic pieces I have mentioned. And don’t call our market a “free market” because it is not. (See also: tariffs)

3) You want to support businesses to the point that it’s okay for them to ship their labor overseas for the sake of greater profit. Then you still say “Buy American to save American jobs”. You are NOT saving American jobs if the “American companies” are shifting their labor overseas. Nor are you supporting quality and innovation, something this country used to lead and stand for.

4) You claim to be “right-to-life”, but it’s okay if you execute criminals. Whaaaaa? Hypocracy! Why not let the criminals suffer (under more harsh conditions) instead of putting them out of their misery?!

5) You support a walking hypocrite like Sarah Palin, “self proclaimed conservative”, and look the other way when her own daughter, who is supposed to be part of Sarah’s conservative values, has a teenage pregnancy. (Last I checked, teenage pregnancy was not part of the conservative platform. You would have jumped on the opposition if you had the chance.) Conservatives, can’t even walk their own talk. If you’ve noticed, most savvy dems support (AKA hope) Sarah Palin runs for president. They are otherwise saying, bring Sarah on! She is an easy target.

6) You oppose the “Green effort”. WHO CARES if global warming is real. This is a new opportunity for America to get involved in a whole new industry and lead/profit from it. If it stays in America, it will create new jobs. You think you’ll have to sacrifice performance? Let’s use “a green car” as an example: I’ll put up a Tesla roadster, all electric, 0-60, against ANY factory car made in America (or abroad). (Look what you’ll have to spend to do 0-60 in less than 3.9 seconds.)

7) Conservatives today have no substance. They instead hype and play on people’s fears. Those that support the repubs are simply blind-faith followers of Rush-to-judgement Limpblob, Sarah Palin, and Fox (Un-fair and Chemically un-balanced) News. Just as Rush, Sarah, and Fox, they play very loose with the facts and only have one mission: bash the dems and libs to make themselves look superior and dodge/ignore real information.

8 ) They lack the ability to come up with innovative new ideas to SOLVE new problems. Instead they use old ideas (re-treads) and revert back to old problems. Innovation _is_ American.

9) They are a group of “Ameri-can’ts” and are not “Ameri-cans”. They throw rocks at people who try to solve problems, but provide no solutions of their own…except for the same-old tools that they always try to use.

10) I seem to remember that the ones in power, a little over a year ago, used to profess that it was “unpatriotic” to be against the president and the efforts being made. Where are you now????!!!! Ohhhhh I get it….that only counts when yoooour party is in power!!!!! I don’t consider your attitude as “being American” or patriotic. You’re just republican. (Obama didn’t start the two wars that were NEVER winnable when it was conceived. He didn’t target an enemy (terrorists) that was defined so obscurely that it was impossible set objectives and achieve. (see crusade) He didn’t LEAD the charge to bail out companies instead of the American individual which would have, in turn, helped bail-out the economy and would have resulted in less hardship.)

11) Last I checked this country is called the United States of America. And if you’re trying to “win YOUR country back”, there’s no such country called the “United States of Republicans”. You’ll have to leave this country and start your own!

Now before you begin your reply to this, instead of personal attacks and name-calling, let’s see if you can make a point…with facts that cover the whole point and not just part of it (see half-truths). Try to buck your usual rhetoric. Try connecting ALL the dots, end-to-end, when you attempt to make your points. Maybe you’ll gain credibility from those who don’t believe in “blind faith”. And don’t cherry-pick just to bring someone down, like the president.
